Monday - what a fantastic day!

After a week of settling in last week, today was the first proper day of learning again and Miss McMunn was blown away!

We began the day with a launchpad in Maths where we had to show Miss McMunn our knowledge of addition and subtract without any help from teachers or friends in our class. We do this so Miss McMunn can see what we already know and where we need to go next.

After that, we went to City School for our first swimming lesson of the year. We were assessed and put into groups with people who were of a similar level of confidence in the pool. Then we began to look at specific skills which would help us to all become confident swimmers.

This afternoon we had a writing launchpad. Our first writing genre is letter writing because we would love the Army Careers office (who ran our project launch) to come and help us with the rest of our topic. We thought the best way to convince them would be to write a persuasive letter to them. After today's lesson we will look at different exemplars and create a rubric, refine a variety of skills from the rubric and finally write, critique and redraft our letters multiple times before sending to the careers office.

We are looking forward to tomorrow where we are all going to be given different job roles from the army!

Keep checking back here for more information!
